God Exists

The teacher asked the student the following questions:
Q: Do you see the tree? A: Yes
Q: Do you see the grass? A: Yes
Q: Do you see the sky? A: Yes
Q: Do you see God? A: No
The teacher concludes that “That is because God does not exist.”

Another student asks if she may repeat the process.
Q: Do you see the tree? A: Yes
Q: Do you see the grass? A: Yes
Q: Do you see the sky? A: Yes
Q: Do you see the teacher? A: Yes
Q: Do you see the teacher's brain? A: No
The student concludes that “That is because it does not exist.”

In The Last Days

The days of Creation are a type to God's Chosen People and
also a type in prophecy. Each of the six days represents
1000 years and the seventh day of rest represents the 1000
years of Messiah's reign on Earth as King and Priest. When
Scripture speaks prophetically about “in the last days”, these
are 1000 year days. In Hebrews we read:
“in these last days [God] has spoken to us in His Son, whom He
appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the
world.”
Jesus Christ died and rose almost 2000 years ago. The passage
is confusing unless the “days” are 1000 years long.

That's Not Fair!

The daughter was told that she could not date the boy
because he was not a believer. The response was typical:
"That's not fair!"
The wise father replied: "You're correct, it's not fair!
It's not fair that you are beautiful.
It's not fair that you are smart.
It's not fair that you have two loving parents.
It's not fair that your family has above average income.
It's not fair that you have more nice things than most.
You should get on your knees and thank God that He is not
fair!
You could live in a Muslim country and have parents
martyred for their faith.
You could have few rights simply because you are a female.
You could live in poverty with little sanitation like much
of the world.
So, when you take a hot shower and climb into a comfortable
bed, thank God!
When a nutricious meal is placed in front of you, thank God!
When a vehicle takes you to school, thank God!
When your parents tell you that they love you, thank God!
When God disciplines you, thank God!"

Compromise

I say that 2 + 2 = 4.

You say that 2 + 2 = 8, but you are willing to compromise
on 2 + 2 = 6.

Why is this not reasonable? 2 + 2 = 4 is true, and both of
the others are false!

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life;
no one comes to the Father but through Me."

America's Financial Crisis

There are 3 significant books which warn of crisis:

America's Financial Demise (2010) by Ethan Pope

The Coming Economic Earthquake (1991) by Larry Burkett

The Coming Economic Armageddon (2010) by Dr. David Jeremiah

All three are by respected Christian authors. Read them!

Where is Our Josiah?

The United States of America has turned away from God.
We have a President who omits “by their Creator” when he
quotes the Declaration of Independence. He has not been
going to church because it would “create too much of a
distraction for the worshipers.” He and his family did
go this month – the speaker was a Muslim!
How different this is from Josiah in 2 Kings 23: The
king went up to the house of the LORD and all the men of
Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and
the priests and the prophets and all the people, both small
and great; and he read in their hearing all the words of
the book of the covenant.
Most - if not all – of the nation's problems can be
traced to immorality. Most marriages now end in divorce –
even for Christians; most births are out-of-wedlock; tens
of millions of able-bodied folks do not work and are
dependent on productive citizens for their care; illegal
aliens are supported by United States citizens; dependence
on God has been replaced by dependence on government; laws
are passed and not enforced; the federal government has
illegally intervened in matters not enumerated in the
United States Constitution; etc.
“Poverty in America” has increased despite trillions of
dollars spent on the “War on Poverty.” Much of this
“increase” is due to an erroneous use of statistics by
“category” rather than individual. Those self reliant
Americans who are “poor” at some point in time are not
poor 10 years later. The “poor” in America have “stuff”
(TV, car, electricity, indoor plumbing, cell phone, washer,
dryer, dishwasher, etc.) that families in other countries
can only dream about. Many of the truly poor have made bad
decisions - dropped out of school, became pregnant, divorced
the productive spouse and had no skills to earn a living,
etc. The politicians made laws (CRA, 1977) making it easy
to get housing with little or no means to pay for it;
threatened or sued banks and mortgage companies to force
them to make bad mortgage loans; loosened laws on the
financial industry and failed to enforce them; and then
blamed everyone else for their failure.
When the financial system “collapsed”, the government
illegally intervened. Contract law was ignored and
political supporters were rewarded at the expense of the
American taxpayers. Media commentators like Ed Schultz
of MSNBC stated to callers that GM and Chrysler received
“loans” from the government and were not bailed out. He
got several calls since some people were well aware that
the taxpayers and the unions have an ownership interest
and creditors lost their priority given by contract law.
American schools are failing. They teach the
“evolution” lie in science class although there is
nothing scientific about it. Testing and peer review are
not possible because there is no data; only secular
explanations which reject God for concepts that science
cannot explain. Kids are taught the mechanics of making
babies without the moral lessons necessary. Abortion –
which is murder of a human being – is the “progressive”
solution to irresponsible parents. Homosexuality is
taught as normal rather than an abomination. Climate data
is "selected" to show an immanent "global crisis."
Where is our Josiah? I believe that Jesus Christ will
rapture His Church at any moment and seven years later
establish His Kingdom on Earth. Those who rejected Him
will spend an eternity in the lake of fire, while those
who have put their trust in Him as Savior will be with
Him forever.

GOD or government?

1 Samuel 8:10-18
Warning concerning a King
So Samuel spoke all the words of the LORD to the people
who had asked of him a king. He said, "This will be the
procedure of the king who will reign over you: he will take
your sons and place them for himself in his chariots and
among his horsemen and they will run before his chariots.
He will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and of
fifties, and some to do his plowing and to reap his harvest
and to make his weapons of war and equipment for his
chariots. He will also take your daughters for perfumers
and cooks and bakers. He will take the best of your fields
and your vineyards and your olive groves and give them to his
servants. He will take a tenth of your seed and of your
vineyards and give to his officers and to his servants. He
will also take your male servants and your female servants
and your best young men and your donkeys and use them for his
work. He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves
will become his servants. Then you will cry out in that day
because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, but
the LORD will not answer you in that day."

Is Obama a Christian?

Is a person a Christian if he says that he is? The
Bible says in 1 John 4:1,
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the
spirits to see whether they are from God, because many
false prophets have gone out into the world. By this
you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses
that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and
every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God;

Some Americans believe that BH Obama is a Christian
because he does good things for others. The fictional
character Robin Hood did good things for others, but he
was a criminal. I would argue that Obama does not obey
the law. A Christian is to obey the law.

Psalm 122: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May they
prosper who love [God].

BH Obama has offended our ally Israel. The Jews are
still God's Chosen People. That has not changed. When
Obama genuflects to a Muslim king, he offends Israel.
In his speeches to Muslims, he speaks as one of them.
His wife speaks of Kenya as his home country. BH Obama
was schooled in Muslim schools during his formative years.
He will not release a Birth Certificate or any early
records (his COLB has no verifiable information). His
public spokesperson Robert Gibbs says that building a
mosque near ground zero of the 9/11 murders is a local
issue for NYC. BH Obama then gives his Presidential
approval speaking before a pro-Muslim audience (applause).

I believe that BH Obama is a Muslim. A key tenet of
Islam is "deceive your enemy" (infidels).

Christian counseling

Dr Benjamin Spock wrote a book called "Baby and Child Care"
which was used as a guide by new parents. He had to publicly
apologize for being wrong. At least one generation was
raised according to these wrong principles - which differed
from those taught in the Bible. One does not have to
proselytize in order to advocate Biblical principles. A
Christian cannot ignore the Bible since it is the source of
TRUTH (John 14:6, Romans 1:25).

The Old Man

Our house was directly across the street from the
clinic entrance of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
We lived downstairs and rented the upstairs rooms to
outpatients at the clinic.
One summer evening as I was fixing supper, there
was a knock at the door.  I opened it to see a truly
awful looking man.  "Why, he's hardly taller than my
8-year-old," I thought as I stared at the stooped,
shriveled body.  But the appalling thing was his face,
lopsided from swelling, red and raw.
Yet his voice was pleasant as he said, "Good evening.
I've come to see if you've a room for just one night.  I
came for a treatment this morning from the eastern shore,
and there's no bus 'til morning."
He told me he'd been hunting for a room since noon
but with no success, no one seemed to have a room.  "I
guess it's my face ... I know it looks terrible, but my
doctor says with a few more treatments .."
For a moment I hesitated, but his next words
convinced me: "I could sleep in this rocking chair on the
porch.  My bus leaves early in the morning."
I told him we would find him a bed, but to rest on the
porch..  I went inside and finished getting supper.  When
we were ready, I asked the old man if he would join us.
"No, thank you.  I have plenty."  And he held up a brown
paper bag.
When I had finished the dishes, I went out on the porch
to talk with him a few minutes.  It didn't take a long time
to see that this old man had an oversized heart crowded
into that tiny body.  He told me he fished for a living to
support his daughter, her 5 children, and her husband, who
was hopelessly crippled from a back injury.
He didn't tell it by way of complaint; in fact, every
other sentence was preface with a thanks to God for a
blessing.  He was grateful that no pain accompanied his
disease, which was apparently a form of skin cancer.  He
thanked God for giving him the strength to keep going..
At bedtime, we put a camp cot in the children's room
for him.  When I got up in the morning, the bed linens were
neatly folded and the little man was out on the porch.
He refused breakfast, but just before he left for his
bus, haltingly, as if asking a great favor, he said, "Could
I please come back and stay the next time I have a treatment?
I won't put you out a bit.  I can sleep fine in a chair."
He paused a moment and then added, "Your children made me
feel at home.  Grownups are bothered by my face, but children
don't seem to mind."
I told him he was welcome to come again.
And, on his next trip, he arrived a little after 7 in
the morning.  As a gift, he brought a big fish and a quart
of the largest oysters I had ever seen!  He said he had
shucked them that morning before he left so that they'd be
nice and fresh.  I knew his bus left at 4:00 a.m. and I
wondered what time he had to get up in order to do this for
us.
In the years he came to stay overnight with us, there
was never a time that he did not bring us fish or oysters or
vegetables from his garden.
Other times we received packages in the mail, always by
special delivery; fish and oysters packed in a box of fresh
young spinach or kale, every leaf carefully washed.  Knowing
that he must walk 3 miles to mail these, and knowing how
little money he had made the gifts doubly precious.
When I received these little remembrances, I often
thought of a comment our next-door neighbor made after he
left that first morning.
"Did you keep that awful looking man last night?  I
turned him away!  You can lose roomers by putting up such
people!"
Maybe we did lose roomers once or twice.  But, oh!,
if only they could have known him, perhaps their illnesses
would have been easier to bear.
I know our family always will be grateful to have
known him; from him we learned what it was to accept the
bad without complaint and the good with gratitude to God.
Recently I was visiting a friend, who has a greenhouse,
as she showed me her flowers, we came to the most beautiful
one of all, a golden chrysanthemum, bursting with blooms.
But to my great surprise, it was growing in an old dented,
rusty bucket.  I thought to myself, "If this were my plant,
I'd put it in the loveliest container I had!"
My friend changed my mind.  "I ran short of pots," she
explained, "and knowing how beautiful this one would be, I
thought it wouldn't mind starting out in this old pail.
It's just for a little while, till I can put it out in the
garden."
She must have wondered why I laughed so delightedly,
but I was imagining just such a scene in heaven.
"Here's an especially beautiful one," God might have
said when he came to the soul of the sweet old fisherman.
"He won't mind starting in this small body."
All this happened long ago - and now, in God's garden,
how tall this lovely soul must stand.
The LORD does not look at the things man looks at.  Man
looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the
heart." (1 Samuel 16:7b)

Will You Get a New Body?

...flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God;
nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep,
but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the
trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised
imperishable, and we will be changed.
For this perishable must put on the imperishable,
and this mortal must put on immortality.

Only true believers - those baptized into Christ by
the Holy Spirit - will be changed. This is a spiritual
baptism, just like the "baptism now saves you" in
1 Peter 3:21 is spirit - rather than water - baptism.
Noah and his family stayed dry!

Muslim Man in Heaven

Muslim men believe that they will go to Paradise when they die as martyrs,
and that they will have 72 virgins. Well...
A Muslim man goes to Heaven. James Madison comes up to him and
kicks him in the shin. George Washington hits him on the
collarbone with his cane. Thomas Jefferson slaps him on the
face. Patrick Henry punches him in the stomach, etc.
The Muslim man is distraught. This is supposed to be Paradise,
and there should be 72 virgins...
You mean 72 Virginians!

U.S. Training and Equipping a Palestinian Army?

General Avi Mizrahi, the Israeli leader in the area of Judea
and Samaria in Israel, says that Israeli soldiers face the
potential challenge of being confronted by a Palestinian
military force trained and equipped by the US and this
force is capable of causing real damage to Israel.

This Palestinian military force was trained in Jordan by US
General Keith Dayton and the Israeli military is preparing
for a potential confrontation. US General Dayton has
expressed belief that this Palestinian army would likely
attack the Jewish state in the event that Israel does not
give in to the demands of the world leaders for a resolution
to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The report of the Israeli military preparing for a
confrontation with an American trained and equipped
Palestinian army is a precursor to the prophetic scenario
that can be found in Bible prophecy.

The IDF is now training for the potential battle that may
occur if the Israeli government rejects the demands of the
US and EU to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. US
General Keith Dayton, the military trainer for this
Palestinian army, said if Israel does not surrender Judea
and Samaria to the Palestinians within the next two years,
this Palestinian military force could turn their guns on the
Israelis. This scenario is, as I said, the lead up to what
Bible prophecy says will unfold in the last days.

Malachi said that the Edomites, the Palestinians of today,
would rebuild and become a force in the Middle East, Malachi 1.
Ezekiel wrote that when the Palestinians become a major force,
they will kill the Jews, Ezekiel 35:5 and then take the land
of the Jewish people, Ezekiel 35:10. Obadiah revealed in his
prophecy that the Edomites, Palestinians of today, would become
drunk with power and try to wipe out the Jews only to be
defeated, Obadiah 15-18.

The Jewish Wedding

Why should Christians be interested in Jewish traditions?
I'm glad you asked!
1) Jesus Christ created everything and picked Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob to be His chosen people.
2) Jesus Christ was a Jew, his mother was a Jew, and his
stepfather was a Jew.
3) Jesus Christ perfectly followed the Jewish Law
4) Jesus Christ is the bridegroom and the Church is His
bride

If a Jewish man sees a Jewish woman whom he would desire
as a wife, then he
1) Follows her to her home
2) Lets her father know that he is interested in making
the daughter his wife
3) The man and the father - in the presence of the mother
and daughter - draw up a detailed marriage contract and sign
it. The role of the husband and the role of the wife are
clearly defined in the marriage contract.
4) The man pours a glass of wine and gives it to the daughter.
If she drinks it, then she has accepted the marriage contract.
They are betrothed.
5) The man goes home where his father instructs him in how
to prepare a place for his bride.
6) When her new home is ready, the groom and his friends go
to the place of the bride and bring her to the new home.

Jesus Christ died for the world on a Roman cross. Those who
placed their trust in Him as Savior and Lord are the true
Church, the bride of Jesus Christ. The roles of each is
clearly detailed in the Word. Believers enter into the
marriage covenant by being baptized into His death, burial
and resurrection and partaking of the bread and the wine
during the Lord's Supper in rememberance.
Jesus Christ is currently in Heaven preparing a place for His
bride. He and His angels will come shortly for His bride.
We will celebrate the marriage supper of the Lamb with Him
in Heaven and will be with Him forever.

For by Grace Are You Saved

A man dies and goes to heaven.  St. Peter meets him at the
Pearly Gates and says, 'Here's how it works.  You need 100
points to make it into heaven.  You tell me all the good
things you've done, and I give you a certain number of
points for each item, depending on how good it was.  When
you reach 100 points, you get in.'

'Okay,' the man says,
'I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never
cheated on her, even in my heart.'

'That's wonderful,'
says St. Peter, 'that's worth two points!'

'Two points?!' he says.

'Well, I attended church all my life and supported its
ministry with my tithe and service.'

'Terrific!' says St.
Peter,  'That's certainly worth a point.'

'One point!?!!'

'I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a
shelter for homeless veterans.'

'Fantastic, that's good for
two more points,' he says.

'Two points!?!!

'Exasperated, the man cries.  'At this rate the only way
I'll get into heaven is by the grace of God.'

'Bingo! 100 points!  Come on in!'

We often try to fix problems with WD-40 and duct tape.

God did it with a nail.

AMEN!

He is Risen!

On the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb
bringing the spices which they had prepared. And they found the
stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did
not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly
stood near them in dazzling clothing; and as the women were
terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them,
"Why do you seek the living One among the dead? He is not here,
but He has risen."

Survival of the Fittest

Secular Humanism teaches that the "universe is self-existing and not
created." The evolution idea is taught in government school classrooms
as scientific fact even though the idea can not be tested and must be
accepted by faith.
The mechanism for "progress to higher forms" in the evolution idea
is survival of the fittest. To progress we should have a "breeding
program for humans." The "science" of eugenics studied this.
Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, favored aborting
the less fit. Adolph Hitler favored killing all who were less fit - like
Jews.
If permitting only the most fit to procreate helps improve the human
"animal", then IQ tests should be given early in life - at least before
puberty - and all below a designated IQ should be sterilized. Those
with genetic diseases or inferior characteristics - ex. red hair - should
also be sterilized to prevent them from passing on inferior genes.
A key step is to have government control of health care in addition to
government control of schools.

God So Loved The World

A little boy was selling newspapers on the corner; the
people were in and out of the cold. He was so cold that
he wasn't trying to sell many papers.

He walked up to a policeman and said,
"Mister, you wouldn't happen to know where a poor boy
could find a warm place to sleep tonight would you? You
see, I sleep in a box up around the corner there and down
the alley and it's awful cold in there for tonight. Sure
would be nice to have a warm place to stay"

The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, "You
go down the street to that big white house and you knock on
the door. When they come out the door you just say John 3:16,
and they will let you in."

So he did. He walked up the steps and knocked on the door,
and a lady answered. He looked up and said, "John 3:16 " The
lady said, "Come on in, Son."

She took him in and she sat him down in a split bottom rocker
in front of a great big old fireplace, and she went off. The
boy sat there for a while and thought to himself: John 3:16. I
don't understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm.

Later she came back and asked him "Are you hungry?"
He said, "Well, just a little. I haven't eaten in a couple of
days, and I guess I could stand a little bit of food,"

The lady took him in the kitchen and sat him down to a table
full of wonderful food. He ate and ate until he couldn't eat
any more. Then he thought to himself: John 3:16. Boy, I sure
don't understand it but it sure makes a hungry boy full.

She took him upstairs to a bathroom to a huge bathtub filled with
warm water, and he sat there and soaked for a while.. As he soaked,
he thought to himself: John 3:16. I sure don't understand it,
but it sure makes a dirty boy clean. You know, I've not had a bath,
a real bath, in my whole life. The only bath I ever had was when I
stood in front of that big old fire hydrant as they flushed it out.
The lady came in and got him.. She took him to a room, tucked him
into a big old feather bed, pulled the covers up around his neck,
kissed him goodnight and turned out the lights. As he lay in the
darkness and looked out the window at the snow coming down on that
cold night, he thought to himself: John 3:16. I don't understand it
but it sure makes a tired boy rested.

The next morning the lady came back up and took him down again to
that same big table full of food. After he ate, she took him back
to that same big old split bottom rocker in front of the fireplace
and picked up a big old Bible.

She sat down in front of him and looked into his young face. "Do
you understand John 3:16?" she asked gently. He replied, "No, Ma'am,
I don't. The first time I ever heard it was last night when the
policeman told me to use it," She opened the Bible to John 3:16 and
began to explain to him about Jesus. Right there, in front of that
big old fireplace, he gave his heart and life to Jesus. He sat there
and thought: John 3:16 -- don't understand it, but it sure makes a
lost boy feel safe.

You know, I have to confess I don't understand it either, how God was
willing to send His Son to die for me, and how Jesus  would agree to
do such a thing. I don't understand the agony of the Father and every
angel in heaven as they watched  Jesus  suffer and die. I don't
understand the intense love for ME that kept Jesus on the cross till
the end. I don't understand it, but it surely does make life worth living.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
