God Becomes Flesh to Save Mankind

Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus
to register all the empire for taxes. This was the first
registration, taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.
Everyone went to his own town to be registered. So Joseph
also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to
Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he
was of the house and family line of David. He went to be
registered with Mary, who was promised in marriage to him,
and who was expecting a child. While they were there, the
time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth
to her firstborn son and wrapped him in strips of cloth and
laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them
in the inn.

The Shepherds’ Visit

Now there were shepherds nearby living out in the field,
keeping guard over their flock at night. An angel of the
Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone
around them, and they were absolutely terrified. But the
angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! Listen carefully,
for I proclaim to you good news that brings great joy to
all the people: Today your Savior is born in the city of
David. He is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you:
You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying
in a manger.” Suddenly a vast, heavenly army appeared with
the angel, praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among
people with whom he is pleased!”

When the angels left them and went back to heaven, the
shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem
and see this thing that has taken place, that the Lord has
made known to us.” So they hurried off and located Mary and
Joseph, and found the baby lying in a manger. When they saw
him, they related what they had been told about this child,
and all who heard it were astonished at what the shepherds
said. But Mary treasured up all these words, pondering in
her heart what they might mean. So the shepherds returned,
glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen;
everything was just as they had been told.

At the end of eight days, when he was circumcised, he was
named Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was
conceived in the womb.

Tolerance for Sin?

Those who commit or tolerate sin wish others to tolerate
rather than condemn their sin. The head of the Richmond
County Democrat Party writes of tolerance for partisan and
illegal actions by Obama out of respect for the office of
the President of the United States. The reader only has
to read his letters and guest columns from 2001-2008 to
expose his hypocrisy.

The same hypocrisy is rampant among “pro-choice” and
“pro-homosexual” advocates. They ask for tolerance while
murders and sodomies are committed. But true believers
are to expose “deeds of the flesh” listed in Galations.
We are warned of the death-spiral waiting for those who
practise sin.

Consider a secular defense of marriage between a man and
a woman. The Census collects far more information than
it is legally required to collect. Consider their data
on poverty and unemployment. A significant sample of 75
million families reveals that families headed by a man
and a woman are least likely to be poor. A single parent –
even if college educated - is much more likely to be poor.
A girl who gets pregnant and drops out of school usually
condemns herself to a lifetime of poverty. She will be a
parasite on productive Americans – but she can vote for
politicians who offer her help – food, rent, health care,
money, etc.!

It is not sin for a man to prefer the friendship of men or
for a woman to prefer the friendship of women. It is sin
when the sexual barrier is crossed. This no different than
a married person having sex with anyone other than their
spouse. Both homosexuality and adultery are equal
abominations to the Lord.

As we turn away from our Judeo-Christian foundation, we
lose the moral anchor which has allowed us to be a nation
of laws and thereby prosper. Now everyone wants to be like
God deciding right and wrong and doing what is right “in
their own eyes.” That should sound familiar.

Mormonism a Cult?

A cult is any religious group which differs significantly
in some one or more respects as to beliefs or practice,
from those religious groups which are regarded as the
normative expressions of religion in our total culture.

Mormonism is a cult because it adds Doctrine and Covenants;
The Pearl of Great Price; and Book of Mormon to the KJV
Bible as “Scripture.” Revelation 22 states: “If anyone
adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in
this book.” Mormons have proxy baptisms for the dead as
an ordinance, and have condoned polygamy in the past.
These are a few obvious differences with common Christian
practice.
Under the definition, Catholicism is also a cult since
the Pope has a special status, celebacy is required by
priests and nuns, and “if we confess our sins [through a
priest], he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our
sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness.”
(1 John 1:9)
Jehovah's Witnesses is a cult because Jesus is “a god”
in John 1.

Be Eager For His Return. It is Near!

So be patient, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s return.
Think of how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the
ground and is patient for it until it receives the early and
late rains. You also be patient and strengthen your hearts,
for the Lord’s return is near.
For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not
hope, because who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for
what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with endurance.
...the grace of God that was given to you in Christ Jesus.
For you were made rich in every way in him, in all your
speech and in every kind of knowledge – just as the testimony
about Christ has been confirmed among you – so that you do not
lack any spiritual gift as you wait for the revelation of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
But our citizenship is in heaven – and we also await a
savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,
so also, after Christ was offered once to bear the sins of
many, to those who eagerly await him he will appear a second
time, not to bear sin but to bring salvation.
Finally the crown of righteousness is reserved for me. The
Lord, the righteous Judge, will award it to me in that day –
and not to me only, but also to all who have set their
affection on his appearing.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to
all people. It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly
desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives
in the present age, as we wait for the happy fulfillment of
our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and
Savior, Jesus Christ.

Star Spangled Banner 4th Stanza

God versus Socialism

God owns everything. The earth is the Lord's, and all it
contains, the world, and those who dwell in it (Ps. 24:1),
and God delegated ownership and dominion of His property
to man (Gen 1:26–28).

God sanctioned the protection of private property in His
law - the Ten Commandments - by including a prohibition
of theft. Jesus and the Apostles upheld this law.

The biblical witness is clear: God believes in private
property, and He not only desires us but commands us to
live by that rule as well.

Socialists believe that private property is a bad idea,
and that governments should own most or all property and
distribute it as government experts, scientists,
politicians, or voters see fit.

Under socialism, the State puts itself in the place of God
and says: "The earth is the State's, and all it contains,
the world, and those who dwell in it."

According to His Riches

...my God shall supply all your need according to his riches
in glory by Christ Jesus.

If a billionaire gives out of his riches, then he can buy you
a meal. If a billionaire gives according to his riches, then
he can buy you the restaurant!

Context is Important

1 + 1 = 10
Why would I put an incorrect equation on this blog?
Because the equation is correct if I tell you that the
context is base 2. You say you only use base 10! What
digital items do you own or use? Context is important!
Consider the following from 2 Peter 3:
In the last days blatant scoffers will come, being
propelled by their own evil urges and saying, “Where is
his promised return? For ever since our ancestors died,
all things have continued as they were from the beginning
of creation.” For they deliberately suppress this fact,
that by the word of God heavens existed long ago and an
earth was formed out of water and by means of water.
Through these things the world existing at that time was
destroyed when it was deluged with water. But by the same
word the present heavens and earth have been reserved for
fire, by being kept for the day of judgment and destruction
of the ungodly. Now, dear friends, do not let this one
thing escape your notice, that a single day is like a
thousand years with the Lord and a thousand years are like
a single day.

Young Earth - concise version

There are 6 days of Creation and a day of rest.

In 2 Peter 3:8 a single day is like a thousand years with
the Lord. The context is the Second Coming.
We have 6000 years since Creation and a Millinneal Kingdom.

In Luke 3 we have Mary's geneology back to Adam. See my
13 Aug 2009 post for my research spreadsheet. The years
since Adam are about 6,000.

If you allow more than 6,000 years since Creation, then
you do not take the Bible literally.

Are You Listening?

John 10:27-30 My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them,
and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will
never perish; no one will snatch them from my hand. My Father,
who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can
snatch them from my Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.”

Jesus is the Word. We may read the Word with the help of the
Holy Spirit in order to listen to Him.

The Defense of Marriage

The United States Defense of Marriage Act got some help from
the mother country today with the marriage of Will and Kate.
The scriptures used and the vows taken were true to Scripture.
The church on Earth has a bully pulpit also when viewed by over
a billion people.
The world will now watch William and Catherine to see if they
meant what they vowed.
Thanks to the Church of England and the new Duke and Duchess
of Cambridge. They did well!

Time to Pay Taxes

Matthew 22:17-21 “...what do you think? Is it right to pay
taxes to Caesar or not?”

But Jesus realized their evil intentions and said,
“Hypocrites! Why are you testing me? Show me the coin used
for the tax.” So they brought him a denarius. Jesus said to
them, “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?”

They replied, “Caesar’s.”

He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are
Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

Ps 24:1 The Earth is the LORD'S, and all it contains, the
world, and those who dwell in it.

If you are truly His, then you will reflect His image and
your inscription will be He is Risen!

Inherit the Kingdom of God

1 Corinthians 6:9,10 ...do you not know that the unrighteous
will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived;
neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor
effeminate [by perversion], nor homosexuals, nor thieves,
nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers,
will inherit the kingdom of God.
Note that fornication, idolatry, adultery, homosexuality,
theft, covetousness, drunkenness, reviling and swindling are
treated equally. No one who commits these sins and fails to
repent and trust in Jesus Christ will inherit the kingdom of
God.

Better Get an ANC Card!

South African President Zuma stated “When you vote for
the African National Congress you are choosing to go to
heaven. When you don't vote for the ANC, you are choosing
that man who carries a fork … who cooks people.” He also
said “When you are carrying an ANC membership card, you
are blessed.”

Christianity v. Islam

Whereas Christianity teaches that we should render unto Caesar
what is Caesar’s and unto God what is God’s* — allowing for a
non-theocratic political tradition to develop in the West,
culminating in the principles of civil and religious liberty
in the American founding — Islam teaches that to disagree with
or even reinterpret the Koran’s 6000 odd verses, organized into
114 chapters or Suras and dealing as fully with law and politics
as with matters of faith, is punishable by death.

*Ps 24:1 The Lord owns the earth and all it contains, the world
and all who live in it.

Notice to School Boards

You are responsible for the education of children in Aiken
County. Part of that responsibility is to protect them
from error. We have seen a lack of integrity among
scientists involved in “Climategate” where data was selected
to prove a premise. There are great rewards such as grants
– and even Oscars and Nobel Prizes for politicians who sell
the false premise.
I received my Master of Science degree in 1969
(U. of Missouri), so I have decades of experience in the
scientific world. The recent lack of integrity among
scientists is not isolated to the global warming scam.
Those scientists who believe in the evolution idea have
actively suppressed data which questions the idea. I do
not call the evolution idea a theory because it is not
science. No “theory” of origins may be science, because
science is about observations, hypotheses and repeatable
experiments by peers.
John Dewey signed the first Humanist Manifesto in
1933. It states that “The universe is self-existing and
not created.” He was at Columbia University training
teachers. Humanist ideas have become embedded in both
teachers and textbooks that they have written.
My Bible tells me that Jesus Christ created
everything. To teach otherwise is to deny Him. My Bible
also tells me that those who deny Him will spend eternity
in the lake of fire. You may be a born-again believer,
but, if you even passively allow error to be taught by
those under your control, you will soon answer to God for
that failure. To whom much is given, much is expected.

Cheap Grace - Chosen & Frozen

Most Christians have embraced “cheap grace.” This is
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” and
John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not
perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son
into the world to judge the world, but that the world might
be saved through Him.”
James describes “costly grace” in 1:12,21-22 “Blessed
is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been
approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord
has promised to those who love Him. Therefore, putting aside
all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in
humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save
your souls. But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not
merely hearers who delude themselves.” 2 Cor 5:10 “For we
must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that
each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body,
according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” This
is not about salvation. This is “OK, you're saved. What
do you do now?”
God left the glory of Heaven to become human like those He
had created. He led a human life for 33 years and died a
cruel death on a Roman cross. He rose on the third day and
took those in Paradise with Him to Heaven. Grace was very,
very expensive.
Next time He comes it will be as the conquering King! Tell
everyone that you know before it is too late!
